To my surprise when I showed up to work this morning I didn’t think i’d be greeted with seedlings. We have a few things which have decided to start shooting despite not having had the cold winter months stratification they need. I have had to transplant a few to allow more space in the trays under the glass, alongside dashing out to buy some plastic cloches to cover the trays.
Whats shooted Jan 3rd 2022:
- Eryngium Serra
- Eryngium planum ‘Blauckappe’
- Zanthoxylum coreanum
- Dodonaea viscosa purpurea
I’m wondering if because we’ve had such a warm winter so far, that perhaps the seeds are confused into what season it is. We will now try our best to keep the seedlings alive for the winter.
