Styrax formosanus Var HayatianusStyrax formosanus var Hayatium

Styrax jap Frages Belle

Styrax jap pendula

Styrax jap. Sohuksan

Styrax Obassia

Styrax pink chimes

Styrax wayuani

Styrax wilsonii

Styrax Wuyuhanensis

How to propagate styrax seed:

Styrax seed pods are hard and difficult to break open so we recommend leaving them for a few weeks to dry a little and split open naturally. The seed inside should be a dark brown when opening. They contains (almost) two coatings of shell and you have to nick the outer layer to reveal the seed.

Once you’ve got the seeds out the pods, you need to place them into something like a zip lock bag with some moist growing substrate, making sure that they’re not too wet as this can drown the seed. We then place ours in the fridge for roughly 11 weeks to cold stratify.

Once the seeds have been stratified, we’ll soak them in water for 24 hours sow into an acidic medium. And wait for seedlings to appear, roughly 14-21 days.
