After a wonderful visit to the national trust conservation center we have decided to trial a few new peat free options to growing. The first is these peat free plugs which are made from coir. They come dried out and then you soak them for five minutes and they expand into these little plugs to pop the cuttings into. We will put them next to cuttings growing in a peat solution and see what the time difference is between the two. We're trialing new ways to become peat free here at Burncoose and trying to find reliable ways to grow is a huge part of that.
